I cant get the peg on the back of the waist of the autobot ratchet figure into the hole. what shall i do?

i have looked online, in the instructions and every where else i can think of and they all show that the peg is in the hole, and i cant seem to get my in.. i dont know what i can do, and i dont want to break it. if i cant get an answer, i'll just live with the fact that it wont go, and that my figure is just a dud.
