Heyy I need bedroom ideas?

okay, i'm 19 years old and i'm redecorating my room before i start college this June. unfortunately, i'm horrible at decoration. i can be creative, but first i need core ideas. up until now i've kind of always had dark, dull themes, but now i want something a bit colorful. i want a modern and/or contemporary look. a lot of white and then some color patterns here and there. i have a very small bedroom, so the amount of furniture is fairly limited. i'm a huge reader so bookshelves are a must. i want something relaxing, yet dramatic, but i have no idea how to make that happen. i don't know what colors would work for that. basically, i just want a twin size bed, a small desk for my computer/homework area, and a small comfy bench or couch, and, i repeat, bookshelves. if you know of any website or you have some personal insight, please let me know. thank you.
